Celebrity baseball pitcher Adam Ottavino and his wife Brette hired Karri for the White Glove Playroom Design option, including complete project management to transform their children’s playroom. Brette envisioned a sophisticated black-and-white palette with pops of neutrals, brought to life with extraordinary custom details like a thrilling slide through the wall, cleverly positioned so the kids see its entrance right as the basement door opens. The rock wall, our first-ever installed on a turf-covered surface, features secure handholds and a rope for confident climbing. Highlights also include a two-story custom playhouse with Lite-Brite panels, activity boards, storybook wallpaper, a doghouse with felt board, and a lighted stage and dance area. A cozy reading nook with personalized neon signage and curated books fosters a love of stories. It was an incredible joy to design this space with them, as we were perfectly aligned on purposeful play being the mission and goal, ensuring educational elements inspire natural curiosity and learning for their three adorable children.
