With deep roots in both design and education, our team is dedicated to creating sensory-rich, developmentally aligned spaces where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Karri is also the creator of the proprietary Project Playroom® method — a research-driven framework that blends her expertise in education, child development, and design to reimagine how children move, play, and learn at home.

Karri Bowen-Poole, M.Ed.

FOUNDER & CEO

Karri Bowen-Poole, Founder and CEO of Smart Playrooms®, has spent over a decade transforming how children learn and play through innovative, educational playroom designs.

Her groundbreaking approach has earned her recognition among A-list celebrities and families seeking to redefine their children’s at-home learning and play experiences.

With a Master’s in Education and over 10 years of teaching experience at esteemed private schools, Karri has developed curriculums for children aged 3 to 12. She believes the playroom serves as a “third teacher,” shaping behavior, learning, and interaction. By blending her educational expertise with a passion for design, Karri creates playrooms that are engaging, educational, and inspiring.

Robin Hull, MSSW, M.Ed.

LEAD E-DESIGNER & PLAYROOM EDIT DESIGNER

Robin brings over five years of teaching experience with children aged 3-6 to Smart Playrooms®.

She holds a Master’s in General and Special Early Childhood Education (Bank Street College of Education), Master’s in Social Work (Columbia University), and Bachelor’s in Psychology and Sociology (University of Delaware).

Robin is Smart Playrooms®’ Lead Playroom EDesigner and Playroom Edit Designer. She is incredibly passionate about child development, educational design, and purposeful playrooms. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, skiing, reading, and creating memories with her husband and three children in Ridgefield, CT. Robin is dedicated to designing playrooms where children and parents thrive.
